A 1972 whimsical painting by Tony Mafia

Once in while small miracles happen like with this painting. A friend of Iris bought a closed storage shed and upon opening they found this painting by Tony Mafia. Iris fell in love with it and bought it. I am glad I can show this earlier work which must have been painted when his kids were still small. Probably this is a Los Angeles painting. If anybody knows more, please e-mail me at 4th-plum@skynet.be All information is welcome.
After a call for more information Anne, Soren and Rike's mother, once married to Tony, wrote that the painting was done at their home. Thanks for that information.

I have a large portrait of my father drawn by Tony Mafia, whom he was close friends with, from 1981 that I would love to share on this site if it were still maintained. Somewhere in father's belongings is a portfolio filled with Tony Mafia prints, they are all done in a "quick-sketch" style. I'd love to share them.

Hello again, I finally remembered to come back to this post.

So I have this portrait by Tony Mafia of my father, Jim Bradshaw from 1981
https://ibb.co/JFwD5Qt

It's the best picture I have on my phone at the moment, and I wanted to share it before I forgot. My wife had illustration reframed. I must say, it is the very image of my dad and just looking at it inspires the artist in me.

Jim passed away in 2009. Of all his friends and acquaintances, Jim had the fondest memories of Tony Mafia. I believe they were roommates or something, in LA? I vaguely remember a story that goes: when they would come back to the apartment they lived in, Tony would fall asleep at the end of the day, and Jim would cover the walls with blank paper. When Tiny would wake up, he just had to draw over everything, all because he couldn't stand to see blank paper.

I'm sure a lot of story is lost over time. Unfortunately I don't have very many pictures of my dad with me, and I regret the fact that I have not been able to find videos. So I miss my father often but I'm so grateful for this beautiful drawing to remember him by.

It sits above my desk and reminds me to enjoy and treasure my life and the company around me. What a gift that is.

If you know any more of the story, I'd love to hear it! There's also a message at the bottom of the drawing that's hard for me to read, but maybe you could help me figure it out. I'll try to take a better picture during the day.

Sincerely,
Patrick Bradshaw
Newberg, Oregon

I have a Tony Mafia painting I purchased at a garage sale. Chalk on brown paper. Double portrait of young women. I think it is his "Mona Lisa".
