These tender harlequins from 1993 are a pen and ink wash; gentle, slightly sad, and well executed. Tony loved the openness and space. What I love are the very expressive eyes of the two figures of course.

Dear Tumbleweed...Tony stayed with Buddy during this time, actually a little earilier in the year and he painted an oil for us that you have seen in our living room....similar subject. I have always wondered if it is the way he saw Buddy and I at the time or you and he...at any rate it is well loved as was Tony. S-I-L
